No teníamos hilo, pero como se está comentando bastante en otros parecía oportuno crearlo, aunque las informaciones para Europa (y no digamos para España) son bastante escasas.

Si, la verdad es que Samsung apenas ha dicho nada sobre sus nuevos plasmas a nivel de Europa. Veremos qué pasa, porque esta gente tiene la capacidad como para desembarcar sus nuevos televisores en cualquier momento y sin previo aviso.

Por cierto, ¿es cosa mía o en plasma solo van a sacar el F8500?

Te refieres a las gamas bajas F5xxx? Porque estas están ya en las tiendas online.

Como he comentado en el otro hilo, en Europa llega el 51" y el 64", los americanos tienen además el 60", y parece que será bastante caro (a diferencia de antes, ej, el Samsung 64E8000 era bastante más barato que un 65VT50).

En USA hay quien ya lo tiene, concretamente Value Electronics (Robert Zohn) que lo deja muy bien, incluso por encima de la VT50.

En los comentarios de Digital Trends lo ponen como Kuro killer. Esto son comentarios de Robert Zohn comparándola con la F8000 LCD:

Okay, I let a little snip-it out. We received the 51" and 60" F8500s last Friday and we've been running break-in slides ever since. In between we'll all viewing video content and doing comparisons as we have the 51" F8500 butt next to the 55" F8000 and VT50 and here's a few comments on what we are seeing.

The F8500 is the best of the lot.
The F8500 is clearly blacker (without crushing)
Brighter than the VT50, but not the F8000
The F8500 has better color accuracy and color saturation than the VT50 and F8000.
The F8000 is still the brightest of the group. One attribute that I can't understand why, but the F8500 appears to deliver a sharper image. I would imagine that is due to the more saturated colors, but we'll know more on this once Kevin Miller does his evaluation and calibration.

Kevin will be evaluating and calibrating the 51" and 60" so we can determine if there are any variances between screen sizes of the F8500. The 64" F8500 has only been released to Amazon and a handful of large direct dealers. My 64" F8500 allocation is due next week.

Más:

The factory default cell brightness setting in the movie mode was set to 18 and the max. setting is 20, which increases the brightness about 5% to my eye.

In the Movie mode the F8500 is significantly brighter than the VT50, which is in the THX Bright mode. And the whites are much whiter and brighter. However, it's not as bright as the F8000, which was calibrated at 56fl in the Movie mode.

Let's wait for this Saturday's calibration and evaluation to make a final judgement.

Regarding what appears to be a sharper image on the F8500 vs, the F8000 and VT50 it's not traditional "sharpness" that I am seeing. To me "sharpness" adds noise and I do not see any noise, this is a more defined looking image with more detail. So maybe sharpness is not the best word, detailed is a better explanation.

Pinta pero que muy bien esa F8500. Creo que este año tendremos duelo de titanes entre la F8500 y la VT60, ó la ZT60.

Googleando he visto ya algun precio en páginas belgas y holandesas, veo que van en la línia de la ZT60 y ponerlo más caro que el año pasado (más que una VT60). El precio puede variar según paises (supongo que algo menos aquí), pero al ser en euros, no demasiado:

Y otra review, de Chad B de Cleveland Plasma, que contradice un poco el entusiasmo de otros. pues no la deja tan bien (la medición de negro es peor) y le saca otros defectillos. Destaca, especialmente, su mayor brillo.

El insider de Panasonic (avjunkie) de highdefjunkies la ha comentado (y agradecido) diciendo que es lo que esperaba, a saber, que no superará a la ZT60, y que Panasonic no pretendía competir en brillo.

Creo que lo que comenta chad B va a ser lo más correcto sin ninguna duda, ya que él sí que la ha calibrado y el otro no, además de que es un gran conocedor de Pioneer, Panasonic y Samsung.

Chad comenta lo que ya conocemos de Samsung de anteriores generaciones, que sus niveles de negro dependen del contenido. Con contenidos 24p el negro suele ser peor que con contenidos 60 Hz, y por lo que comenta el negro no llega al de la VT50, aunque se queda cerca, pero eso no es lo preocupante porque aún así hablamos de un negro excelente y superior al de anteriores generaciones de Samsung, el problema es la detección de fluctuaciones en negros y blancos...y yo por ahí sí que no paso porque la VT50 tiene una imagen sólida como una roca sin ningún tipo de fluctuación. En definitiva, buena tele pero no tiene el nivel de la VT50, VT60 ni Kuro G9...

Review de la PS64F8500 en avforums, le dan un "highly recommended."

Por lo que se comenta de la Samsung, los negros no son tan buenos como las Pana (que además son buenos por igual en ST/GT/VT) y el mejor resultado se consigue con un optimzador dinámico que luego produce un cierto grado de negros flotantes. Pero está muy a la par con las Panasonic y Samsung tiene también sus puntos fuertes (procesado de vídeo, color, smart tv).

De hecho en los comentarios de la review, el propio testeador responde a la pregunta de porqué no han calificado al F8500 como televisor de referencia:
- Why no reference badge? Because of the blacks/contrast?
- Basically yes, the F8500 is a great TV but not quite as good as Panasonic's 2013 vintage, so they are the reference for another year.

También en los comentarios da algún detalle más sobre el ajuste de los negros:
The Black Optimiser has four settings, Off, Auto, Bright Room and Dark Room and in Off it measured 0.013, in Bright Room it measured 0.17 and in Dark Room it measured 0.007. Great I hear you say! Well not exactly because the ANSI measurements for both Off and Dark Room were identical and this was borne out by actual viewing because I really couldn't see any difference between the two settings when viewing actual content. So Black Optimiser worked with a 0 IRE screen but not much else, although I'm seeing Samsung tomorrow, so I'll see if they can explain exactly how it is supposed to work.

Pongo el post también aquí, por ser esta Samsung la ganadora (según público), aunque por aquí no la vamos a ver en ningún sitio.

Resultados muy ajustados en el flat panel shootout de Value Electronics. La votación popular ha elegido la Samunsg F8500, mientras que los expertos han elegido la VT60/ZT60 (empatadas), pero incluso estos han señalado que es sólo una ligera preferencia respecto a la Samsung.

Lo más relevante de la prueba fue constatar que la ZT60 es igual que la VT60 con un filtro más fuerte, lo cual le resta luminosidad, pero le puede dar una ventaja para verse con cierta luz (muchos americanos han cancelado su pedido).

Robert Zohn dijo:
Here are the 2013 Flat Panel Shootout Evaluation final results based on the votes of the attendees and our panel of experts. This year it's been a difficult task to declare a winner. Here's why:

The results came out so close that it is difficult to award one winner. The ZT60 won the popular vote in important categories, black and overall pq, but the F8500 has the highest scores overall and also won in important categories, like contrast ratio and day modes. In the past nine years it has always been very clear who won our Flat Panel Shootout event.

The attendees liked the higher light output of the F8500, so when tabulating the ballots the F8500 is the winner. They saw the F8500 as even sharper, which I would assume is also because of the brighter image in low and high ambient light conditions. Many participants told me the F8500 whites looked cleaner, brighter and in their opinion, whiter.

So the public has spoken and we therefore crown Samsung’s F8500 series PDP the new "King of HDTV" for 2013.

We also recognize and congratulate all of the development engineers at Samsung for making the most significant advancement in PDP technology this year.

Please also take note that the panel of experts selected the VT60/ZT60 as their personal choice. But even their choice was only a slight preference. As DeWayne put it to me.... “To me and just for example, if the VT60 is a 10 the F8500 is a 9 as I don’t care about panel brightness above 30fL”

However, we strongly recommend all consumers to use the same logic that the three expert panelists explained during our closing Q&A: end users should make their buying decision based on viewing habits. The three top contenders are all so very close this year that I don't see a clear winner and these three panels deserve our top recommendation equally.

In fact, all of the 2013 displays in our event this year are exceptional and have made significant advancements in picture quality, build quality and design. So my sincerest congratulations to Sony, Panasonic and Samsung for stepping up the game on PDP and LED display technology advancements.
