Pero una cosa está clara, independientemente de su fiabilidad, la noticia ha cruzado el charco en pocas horas y ya debe de haber llegado a los despachos de los mandamases de la Paramount.

Con todo el revuelo causado, supongo que no les quedará dudas sobre la demanda de estas ediciones.

Como si los de Paramount se preocupasen por semejante memeces. Lo unico es que igual alguno por listo se queda vetado de Paramount España.

Y lo del padrino se sabe que es inminente a corto-medio plazo porque hay una restauración hecha hace nada. Pero de ahí a inventarse una noticia...

Hombre, puede que para tí sea una memez, pero para un empresario la constatación de que ya existe tal demanda por un producto tan nuevo no tiene precio.

Y esta noticia (porque lo era, aunque luego se haya matizado o medio desmentido) es sin duda una de las que más espectación ha causado en el todavía incipiente mercado de películas en alta definición.

Que haya expectación por la salida de sagas tan famosas como El Padrino o Indiana Jones no es ninguna noticia. Lo raro seria que hubiese dejado indeferente.

De todas maneras la repercusión no ha sido mucha que digamos.

Okay, we've heard back from Paramount. They tell me officially that the artwork posted on the 1080b website is fake (it looks like someone took the DVD covers and mocked up Blu-ray versions in Photoshop), which we already suspected. They also tell me that they currently have no information regarding the status of these titles being released on Blu-ray... which is something of a non-denial denial. So... where does that leave us?

After hearing back from some of our sources around the industry this afternoon, and now Paramount, what I think is this: It's possible, but not yet officially decided, that we could see these titles on Blu-ray this year. There are discussions, there's some work being done, but the trigger hasn't actually been pulled yet and official announcements have obviously not yet been made. Interestingly, a number of retailers have now e-mailed me to say they've heard the titles may be coming this year. So while there isn't fire yet, there's definitely smoke. If I had to lay odds, I think there's about a 70/30 chance of both the Godfather films and Indy IV coming to Blu-ray later this year, but the rest of the Indy films are still just 50/50. Again, cross your fingers, be patient and hopefully we'll hear more officially one way or the other soon. We will, of course, keep you updated.

Si entras en 1080b verás que han puesto una noticia explicando el tema, encima en inglés por la repercusión internacional que ha tenido. Explican que las portadas efectivamente eran fakes y su objeto era simplemente ilustrar la noticia.

A continuación redactamos una explicación en inglés sobre la noticia de Indiana Jones en Blu-Ray, destinada a los medios extranjeros que se han hecho eco de la noticia que publicamos ayer, la cuál suscitó una grandísima polémica.

Yesterday, the guys running 1080b.com inquired a Paramount Spain insider about upcoming Blu-Ray releases from the company, which were expected to hit the Spanish market after the summer.

For our own surprise, among previously released HD DVD backcatalog that will be reissued on Blu-Ray Disc, and among 3 big-hit titles (also previously released on DVD: “No Country For Old Men”, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” and “Cloverfield”), we were told that Paramount was already working on The Godfather and Indy series.

Yes. We were astonished too, so we published the information because we thought it was reliable and it made sense, even no official announcement had been made, and no official press document had been released to the media.

About the artwork: Some claim it’s fake. Well, of course it is. It was just a decoration for the news, never intended to pass for the real thing. ¿How could a Spanish small blog have the final cover arts for such a great movie pack without other major sites having it before?

Anyway, we’d like to apologize to all of you. We are a respectable source and we rarely publish unofficial release dates, but this time we thought we had it right.

Time will tell if we were right or not. October 29th fits the Christmas sales campaign start, and makes sense knowing the Trilogy already made its way into DVD a long time ago and it’s no longer an untouchable golden idol. In fact, it’d be the right move to increase and power Paramount’s BD sales next winter.

Lo más gracioso es que el 29 de octubre sigue siendo una fecha señalada.

hoy vuelven a la carga anunciando que Paramount baraja para el 1 de octubre Transformers en BD. Desde luego es una muy buena campaña para aumentar las visitas. :cuniao

Ah y han hecho un fake cover para "adornar" la "noticia" y para excitar a los americanos supongo.

El título del post, como dice B-52 estaría bien cambiarlo. He puesto la noticia aquí porque creo que es aún un rumor. Cuando se anuncien a bombo y platillo ya se creará un hilo para que hablemos de la trilogía ¿no?...

Ya vi la fecha queridos compañeros. Y el que no quiera ver que Rafa le saca la cara siempre tenga o no tenga razón a Jacobobo, pues como que está ciego.
 
Por favor, no sigamos con eso y centrémonos en el tema del hilo si es que hay algo que decir sobre ello.
