Pixar ha anunciado su nuevo film: se titula ‘Día de los Muertos’, estará ambientado en México y se espera su estreno para 2015. Dirige Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3). Como guarde el más mínimo parecido con Grim Fandango directamente me cago encima. Sin más. Me. Cago. Encima.

Will 'Dia de Los Muertos' Be Pixar's First Musical?
Oscar-winning songwriter Randy Newman claims that director Lee Unkrich's next Pixar movie will be a musical, a first for the studio.

While a lot of Pixar movies have a musical element to them, the famed animation studio has never made a full-on musical. It looks like that may be changing, though, as Oscar-winning singer/songwriter Randy Newman, who has composed 6 previous Pixar movie soundtracks along with the iconic Toy Story theme song 'You've Got a Friend in Me', has revealed that director Lee Unkrich's next project for the studio will be a musical. And it seems that project is the Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Movie.

The Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project was announced way back in 2012, and was described as a 'wholly original' film for Pixar that would delve into the holiday of it's title. Since that time, we haven't heard too much about the storyline. Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project does not have a proper title at this time, nor does it have a release date. One other thing it definitely won't have is Randy Newman, who is not working on the animated fantasy adventure. In an interview with Classic FM, the musician describes his own somewhat bad reputation, and how Lee Unkrich used Newman's temp tracks instead of the finished version of the soundtrack for Toy Story 3. This didn't sit well with the composer, who then reveals he will not be collaborating with Lee Unkrich on the director's next project, which actually isn't confirmed to be the Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project, but most likely is:

"I'm not so sure I don't have a reputation for being a little trouble. Lee Unkrich isn't going to use me, I don't think. And not only that, Lee Unkrich had Toy Story 3 temped with my music and it was limiting to me. It was fine, the movie did great and everything and maybe I'm wrong and if I look back on it I won't know the difference, but it didn't fit hand in glove the way I would have tried to do. And he fell in love with the temp, very much so. Now he's not going to use me to work with him again. He's doing a musical now."

It is not known when Pixar and Disney will officially announced the Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project title and release date. Its also unclear how much longer a Pixar musical may take to complete compared to one of their normal outings. There is also the chance that Randy Newman is talking about a completely different Pixar project, though it's unclear what that could even be at this point. If it's something new, nothing about the movie has leaked yet. At any rate, it sounds as though Lee Unkrich is indeed working on Pixar's first full-fledged musical, which is coming after the success of Disney's Frozen. That movie has surely influenced some of the decisions Pixar and Disney are making moving ahead, and it sounds like Frozen is helping shape what the Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project may eventually be.

Untitled Dia de Los Muertos Project comes to theaters in 2015. The film is directed by Lee Unkrich.

Las declaraciones del compositor Randy Newman indican que 'Día de los Muertos' podría ser el primer musical que estrene Pixar

El compositor Randy Newman, ganador del Oscar por películas como 'Monstruos S.A' o 'Toy Story 3', ha dejado entrever que uno de los próximos proyectos de Pixar podría ser un musical. En concreto, se trataría de 'Día de los Muertos', proyecto que Pixar anunció en 2012 con Lee Unkrich ('Toy Stoy 2', 'Buscando a Nemo') como director y Newman encargado de la banda sonora del film. El reconocido compositor se quedó fuera del proyecto, y ahora, en sus últimas declaraciones ha anunciado que el animador estaría trabajando en un musical.

"No voy a colaborar con Lee Unkrich. En 'Toy Story 3' usó mi música, y todo salió genial, aunque quizás me equivoqué en algo. Pero en su próxima película no va a contratarme. Está haciendo un musical", dijo Newman en una entrevista con Radio Classic FM.

'Día de los muertos' se estrenará en junio de 2016 y se adentrará en la famosa festividad mexicana del "Día de los Muertos". Por el momento se desconocen más detalles.

Tras un 2014 sin títulos, Pixar estrenará en 2015 dos nuevos proyectos: 'Inside Out' (14 agosto), centrada en una niña de 11 años que es guiada por sus emociones: Alegría, Miedo, Ira, Asco y Tristeza; y 'The Good Dinosaur' (25 de noviembre), una historia que mostrará cómo se viviría si los dinosaurios nunca se hubiesen extinguido.

A mí el póster me mola pero esta peli me da más pereza que cars 3, lo que a mi entender confirma lo que muchos se huelen pero nadie tienen los huevos de decirlo en alto ; ya lo digo yo : el cine usa de animación está muerto y enterrado. Que seguro que es una peli maja y que se deja ver pero desgraciadamente ese es el nivel de ahora mismo : "se deja ver" es el "obra maestra " de los 90

A nivel musical de bandas sonoras y diseños conceptuales e ideas artísticas hace tiempo que me pase a los videojuegos porque el cine animación USA incluso el Europeo de Gru y demás me parece un puto chiste y un insulto al arte
 
Aunque estoy de acuerdo con lo que comentas, y se trata de un mal extendido más allá de la animación en aquellas tierras, el año pasado se nos brindó una joya titulada kubo y las dos cuerdas mágicas.

Algo es algo.
 
A ver por supuesto esta Laika y está el estudio que hizo la de Kells o como se diga... también me gustó Inside Out y supongo que esta huele a alguna lagrimilla al final.... no todo es Mordor pero lo que sí está claro es que el 90% del cine de animación, incluso la música o cualquier forma de arte se ha convertido en un páramo desértico...
por eso digo que me he pasado a los videojuegos a la hora de ver nuevas ideas y conceptos abstractos...( no a nivel de que me cuenten una historia claro)
Estoy jugando ahora al de Abzu y a nivel conceptual , espiritual y musical se caga en todo lo que ha hecho Disney Pixar en los últimos 10 años
