Graphic Novel Style Guide:
Color Palette:
Muted, cold tones — stormy blues, sickly greens, faded grays, seaweed-like yellows.
Occasional highlights of ghostly white or phosphorescent green for supernatural elements.
Line Work:
Sharp, fine lines for architecture; rougher, scratchy lines for organic or decaying objects (like skin, rotting houses).
Textures should feel old and rough, as if scratched by time.
Lighting:
Always dim, foggy, and filtered light. Heavy use of shadows.
Key light sources: overcast skies, weak streetlamps, the glint of strange jewelry, reflections off damp surfaces.
Environment Atmosphere:
Mist, fog, salt spray, peeling paint, barnacle-crusted stonework, moss-covered wood.
Streets should look abandoned, waterlogged, and eroded.
Character Design:
Humans: Haggard, weary, suspicious.
Innsmouth residents: Wide staring eyes, sunken cheeks, thin lips, faintly amphibian deformities even if still “mostly human.”
Clothing: 1920s-30s working-class New England attire, faded and threadbare.
Mood:
Oppressive dread, ancient decay, hints of cosmic horror lurking just beyond the veil of reality.
Every frame should feel slightly uncomfortable, like the viewer is witnessing something wrong.

Style Guide: Photorealistic Cinematic Stills
Visual Style
- Photorealism:
Extreme detail in textures — peeling paint, worn-out clothing, rotting wood, realistic skin deformities.
Grainy film-like quality (slightly vintage, 1920s-1930s lens aesthetics).- Color Palette:
- Muted earth tones: wet grays, mossy greens, rusty browns, and sickly pale yellows.
- Deep black shadows.
- Occasional glowing highlights in deep sea-green for supernatural elements.
- Fog desaturates everything (no bright colors — ever).
- Lighting:
- Naturalistic, but always low-light and moody.
- Overcast skies, weak sunlight filtered through thick mist.
- Interior scenes lit by oil lamps, flickering candles, or dirty yellow bulbs.
- Camera Work:
- Cinematic wide shots to show the desolation and decay.
- Slow, creeping zooms and close-ups to reveal disturbing details (like deformed faces).
- Shallow depth of field: focus on a single element, background blurred and unsettling.
Character Design
- Humans (Normal Locals):
- 1920s/1930s clothing: worn coats, suspenders, wool caps, work boots.
- Pale skin from lack of sunlight, gaunt faces.
- Innsmouth Residents (Hybrids):
- Subtle amphibian traits: wide unblinking eyes, clammy or cracked skin, slightly gill-like folds on necks, receding hairlines.
- Unsettling facial proportions (subtly wrong).
- Movements stiff, awkward, almost like something unused to land.
- Key Figures:
- Zadok Allen: extremely wrinkled, wild white beard, watery eyes, clutching a whiskey bottle.
- Bus Driver: stooped, thin with enormous feet and blank, glassy stare.
- Deep Ones (if depicted): sleek amphibious monsters with glistening scales, fanged mouths, webbed hands.
Environment Design
- Architecture:
- Colonial-era New England houses, weather-beaten and partially collapsed.
- Ancient churches with blackened steeples and missing clock faces.
- Barnacle-encrusted stone docks, rotting wooden piers.
- Streets muddy, uneven, cracked — almost drowned in fog.
- Natural Settings:
- Grey ocean under oppressive skies.
- Endless salt marshes and tidal pools filled with dead reeds and rotting fish.
- Atmospheric Effects:
- Heavy mist and sea spray.
- Constant dampness: wet streets, glistening stones.
- Background sounds (optional description for prompts): distant waves, moaning wind, unseen things slithering.
