After hitting an unexpected delay, development on Jurassic Park 4 is back on track with a general release window of 2015 being given to the film a few weeks ago. Now, director Colin Trevorrow spoke with the Schmoes Know about the progress of the film and seemed very optimistic about its future.
"It's incredible to have Steven, who's done this for decades and has such an incredible filmic knowledge and just understands the language of the story in a way that for us is very refreshing. It's not like getting notes from a studio executive, it's really just trying to crack this and make it the best it can be."
When asked if the film would be a reboot, Trevorrow laughed and said: "We don't want to create a new scoop here, but we definitely want to honor what came before us."
In closing, Trevorrow indicated that they're treating the material with a lot of reverence.
"We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time and really the conversation is: It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers, it’s – how do we make something that can stand with the first one."
While plot details for the film are still under wraps, rumor has it that the film will see the action return to Isla Nublar, the island upon which the first film took place, where a new and fully functional Jurassic Park has been opened. All is going well at the park with their "tame" dinosaurs until a new (still unknown) dinosaur wreaks havoc. This remains unconfirmed, along with the cast of the film, but check back here for more details on the project as we learn them.
