One of the biggest hits of the new footage was BB-8, the rolling droid who seems like a fitting successor to R2-D2. Hamill seemed just as enthusiastic about the character’s debut as “Star Wars” fans online. “It’s not CGI, that’s a live prop — I was just amazed. They let me play around with it. I was running it all around at the creature shop up in Pinewood. I’m telling you, it’s an absolute delight. And not having thought that I’d ever go back there, to go back into that world, is just — I get the chills. It’s just so much fun.”

New 'Star Wars 7' Character Name Revealed
LucasFilm and Disney have registered several of the character names seen in the first 'Star Wars 7' trailer, with a new name being unveiled

Depending on your sensitivity to SPOILERS, there will be new information revealed in the following story: Last Week, Lucasfilm and Disney revealed all of the names for the new characters that appear in the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer. The studios have now registered these names, along with the name of a character who does not appear in the sneak peek footage. It is not known whom this name belongs to, which actor will play the character, or if this character falls on the dark or light side of the force.

Are you ready for the big reveal? Among the new registrations, there were many for a brand new character named Captain Phasma. There is no prior documentation for this character or the name outside of an extensive fan-fiction titled Tarkin's Fist. There are also a number of random usernames using this moniker floating around the Internet. Is it possible that J.J. Abrams and his team are paying homage and honoring some of their favorite fan fiction by stealing a name from this vast online universe? That's kind of cool, yet kind of lame depending on how you want to look at it.

It is speculated that Captain Phasma is the character being played by Gwendoline Christie, rumored to be an Imperial Officer with ties to the force who is pursuing John Boyega's Finn, an AWOL stormtrooper, across the universe. Other actors who's characters have not been revealed include Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis (who narrates the teaser trailer}, Lupita Nyong'o and Max von Sydow.

Other names that appear in the registration are the same ones we heard last week, which, along with John Boyega as Finn, include Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, a new Sith villain named Kylo Ren, and the ever-popular ball droid now known across the universe as BB-8. It should be noted that none of the returning characters, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo or Princess Leia have been registered along with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens title.
