First Look at Tatooine Set in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'
Some of the Tatooine scenes in 'Star Wars 7' are being shot on set at London's Pinewood Studios, with location shooting completed in Dubai.

A new Star Wars: Episode VII photo shows a portion of the Tatooine sets that have been built at London's Pinewood Studios. It was previously revealed that some of the scenes taking place on Luke Skywalker's home planet would be built on set, and this is believed to be where J.J. Abrams shot his Star Wars: Force For Change video that revealed a new X-Wing fighter.

The huts in this photo reportedly belong to the Tusken Raiders (otherwise known as The Sand People), but that has not been confirmed (though there were previous reports of some Tusken Raiders spotted on set). A good portion of the Tatooine scenes from Star Wars: Episode VII were shot in Dubai. A number of photos leaked from this location earlier in the year.

It is not known how much more needs to be shot on Tatooine, though it is believed that everything in Dubai is completed. It has not been reported that reshoots are needed for these scenes as of yet.

Spoiler Alert! While no official plot details have been released, the main story in Star Wars: Episode VII is set to follow Han Solo and Chewbacca as they go on a mission to find their missing friend, Luke Skywalker, whom they haven't seen in 30 years. They are joined on this quest by two new characters, played by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. The pair reportedly find a severed hand on Tatooine, one that is holding a lightsaber. The lightsaber, though maybe not the hand, is identified by Han as the one belonging to Luke. They eventually track him down, discovering that he is being held captive by Sith Inquisitors.

'Star Wars 7' Will Redefine Long-Form Storytelling
Comic books, cartoons and other materials will all fit into the 'Star Wars' canon starting with 'Star Wars: Episode VII'.

It's a very good time to be a Star Wars fan these days, with Star Wars: Episode VII currently in production and the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels starting its run on Disney XD later this fall. A new report from Badass Digest reveals LucasFilm and Disney are planning on tying in this show, and other materials such as the upcoming Marvel comics, into the movie canon.

Here's what an unidentified LucasFilm employee had to say in a brief statement.

"We're going to redefine longform storytelling."

The original Star Wars trilogy spawned the Expanded Universe, a massive series of novels, comic books and video games that told peripheral stories outside of the main movie franchise. We reported in April that the new trilogy will avoid the Expanded Universe story lines, which was confirmed a few days later by LucasFilm in a statement that revealed Star Wars Rebels will be a part of the movie canon, along with a new series of novels from Del Ray Books. While those who just want to follow the movies will not necessarily need to watch Star Wars Rebels or read the comic books, fans will be "rewarded" for doing so.

'Star Wars 7': Will Emperor Palpatine Return?
While other villains have been rumored for 'Star Wars 7', it is believed that Darth Sidious / Emperor Palpatine has survived and is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

(Is Bringing Back Another Classic Villain?)

We've heard this rumor before. That Ian McDiarmid will be reprising his role as Emperor Palpatine (aka Darth Sidious) in Star Wars: Episode VII. But now Latino Review is confirming from two different sources that the character will indeed return, though he may not be played by Ian McDiarmid, who took over the role in 1983's Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and returned to play him in all three prequels, beginning with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 1999, and continuing in 2002's Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Major Spoilers to follow...

While The Sith Inquisitors are said to be the primary villains in Star Wars: Episode VII, Darth Sidious will be revealed as the puppet master behind the scenes. And throughout Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars: Episode IX, he will come to the foreground as this new trilogy's main protagonist.

It is reported that the Ewok party seen at the end of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is coming from a forced perspective, and that something much more sinister is at play. While Lando blew up the second Death Star with the Millennium Falcon, Luke Skywalker did have time to drag Darth Vader to an Imperial Shuttle and unmask him as his father, Anakin Skywalker. Which means Palpatine would have had time to escape somehow. As we know from Luke's fall at the end of Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, just because a person is thrown down the tube of a space station doesn't mean they are going to die.

Latino Review sources, said to be working deep inside Lucasfilm, confirm 100% that The Emperor will appear on screen in Star Wars: Episode VII and return with a more substantial role in Star Wars: Episode VIII. They also confirm that he is not being played by Ian McDiarmid. Finally, they go onto hint that he may also not be the old man he once was in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. Has Darth Sidious found the fountain of youth? Or is this Star Wars rumor just another piece of bait to get fans excited?

'Star Wars: Episode VII' resumes shooting after Harrison Ford injury

Han Solo is back in the cockpit.

Star Wars: Episode VII has officially resumed shooting at Pinewood Studios outside of London after taking a brief hiatus due to the on-set accident that broke Harrison Ford’s leg on June 12. Since his character is a major part of the Episode VII story, this caused massive upheaval for the film schedule, which had to be reshuffled in the midst of production while the 72-year-old star recuperated.

As part of that reorganization, photography was placed on hold for two weeks this month, but the entire cast and crew returned to the U.K. this week and the film is officially going, well … full Force, according to sources close to the project.

Despite dire predictions that Ford’s injury would sidetrack him (and the movie) for as much as six months, the athletic actor proved to be far more resilient and was spotted back on his feet (sporting a hands-free leg crutch) just a weeks after the accident, in which part of the set of the Millennium Falcon fell and struck him, fracturing the bone in his left leg.

Even more recently, he walked the red carpet for The Expendables 3, waving and smiling at photographers while strolling by with a barely perceptible limp. He also made an ALS ice bucket challenge, uploaded six days ago, which shows him in shorts and sneakers, with no evidence of leg atrophy or even a support cast.

Throughout Ford’s recovery, Lucasfilm and parent company The Walt Disney Co. have insisted that the Dec. 18, 2015 release date of the movie would not need to be altered. Photography is set to continue until mid-fall, and many cast members have continued to work this summer on scenes that haven’t required Ford’s presence.

Although he has been out of it for a little while, hopefully his other cast members haven’t gotten delusions of grandeur.

Will Liam Neeson Return as Qui-Gon Jinn in 'Star Wars 7'?
Liam Neeson says he hasn't been asked to return as Qui-Gon Jinn in 'Star Wars: Episode VII', but he would certainly reprise his Jedi role.

Since the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII takes place 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, it was believed by many that no characters from the prequel trilogy (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith) would be showing up in this new adventure. Liam Neeson, who played Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, revealed in a new interview with Hey U Guys that he hasn't been asked to reprise his Jedi Master role, but he certainly would come back if they wanted him to return.

I haven't. (If asked) I most certainly would, absolutely. I certainly don't want anyone else playing Qui-Gon Jinn. I don't know what the current story is now. I think it's Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, their characters' generation, and I came way, way before that."

Of course, Qui-Gonn was killed at the end of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace by Darth Maul (Ray Park), but it's possible he could return as a Force Ghost. Liam Neeson returned to voice his iconic character in three episodes of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars as a Force Ghost, so it's completely possible that he could be brought back in this form, although it's unclear who he will interact with.

It's also possible that he could be asked to return for one of the three Star Wars Spin-Off Movie projects as well, but no details have been confirmed as to what time frame those movies will be set in.

Take a look at the video interview with Liam Neeson, then chime in with your thoughts about this new Star Wars sequel below. As well, you can watch a clip from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars that explains how Force Ghosts exist.

Will 'Star Wars 7' Return to Dagobah?
New rumored story details reveal what Luke Skywalker has been doing in the 30 years between 'Return of the Jedi' and 'Star Wars 7'.

Previous Star Wars: Episode VII rumors have claimed that the movie will visit old locations from the previous movies, including Hoth, Endor, and Tatooine. Now, a new rumor is throwing Yoda's exile planet of Dagobah into the mix. Stop reading now if you don't want to know how the planet plays into the proposed storyline.

Last week, new details emerged about how Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) fits into the Star Wars: Episode VII storyline, from a tipster who reportedly read the second draft of J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan's screenplay. It was hinted that Luke may be swayed towards the Dark Side of the Force.

Today, we have a new report from This Is Infamous that reveals more details about Luke Skywalker's character arc. It's been widely reported, but never confirmed, that the story centers on John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's characters, who find a severed hand with a light saber attached to it, which they learn belongs to Luke Skywalker. While it was initially believed that Luke has been missing in the 30 years that have passed since the events of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, This Is Infamous reports that Luke has only been missing for the past 10 years. He spent the first 20 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, and his command of The Force has gotten so strong that the Jedi Master can literally move mountains or stop Imperial ships with just a simple look.

Luke begins to sense a disturbance in the force and starts to get pulled towards the Dark Side, as the Emperor's emergence begin to surface. In an attempt to resist temptation towards the Dark Side, Luke journeys back to Dagobah, Yoda's home planet in the original Star Wars trilogy, for a self-imposed exile. It is here that Luke is supposedly discovered by old and new friends. It's possible that Dagobah is where Luke ends up meeting John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's characters for the first time.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Disney or LucasFilm, but are you excited that Star Wars: Episode VII may be returning to Dagobah? Chime in with your thoughts below.

Star Wars 7' Casts J.J. Abrams Regular Greg Grunberg
Director J.J. Abrams' longtime friend Greg Grunberg confirms that he has a role in the highly-anticipated sequel 'Star Wars 7'.

Longtime fans of director J.J. Abrams will likely know that he casts his old childhood friend Greg Grunberg in most of his movies and TV shows. Many have wondered whether or not the actor will appear in the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII, which is currently in production, but now that speculation can be put to rest.

Earlier today, Greg Grunberg confirmed on his Twitter page that he does, in fact, have a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, although he naturally wouldn't give any details about who he is playing.

Greg Grunberg, who is best known for playing Matt Parkman on NBC's Heroes, started acting in home movies made by J.J. Abrams when they were kids. He went on to star in J.J. Abrams-created shows such as Felicity and Alias, and he also played the Oceanic 815 pilot in Lost's pilot episode. On the feature side, Greg Grunberg played Kevin in J.J. Abrams' feature directorial debut Mission: Impossible III, and he voiced the angry stepfather to a young James Kirk in Star Trek. He was also spotted as a TV actor in the background of Super 8, but Greg Grunberg did not appear in last year's Star Trek Into Darkness.

Who do you think Greg Grunberg should play in Star Wars: Episode VII? Chime in with your thoughts below. Greg Grunberg most recently had an arc on the Showtime series Masters of Sex.
