Tom Hardy podría ser Apocalipsis en 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

No hay duda, es el hombre de moda dentro de las adaptaciones cinematográficas de cómics. Tom Hardy ya fue el villano principal en el Batman de Christian Bale, 'The Dark Knight Rises' y a principios de semana fue vinculado para un papel en la película de David Ayer, 'Escuadrón Suicida'. Ahora The Wrap informa que 20th Century Fox está realmente interesada en contratar al protagonista de 'Mad Max: Fury Road' para interpretar un papel principal en 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

De concretarse su fichaje, Hardy interpretaría a Apocalipsis (Sabah Nur), ese tipo azulado presente en los créditos de 'Days of Future Past'. Creado por Louise Simonson y diseñado por Walter Simonson, Apocalipsis hizo su debut en X-Factor #5 (1986) para contar la historia de Sabah Nur, el primer mutante del mundo nacido en Egipto unos 3.000 años antes de cristo. Este mutante utiliza tecnología avanzada para hacerse a sí mismo como un conquistador eterno, creyendo de todo corazón en la supervivencia de los más aptos.

Bryan Singer dirigirá esta película escrita por Mike Dougherty, Dan Harris y Simon Kinberg, en un estreno que llegará a los cines el 27 de mayo de 2016.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Will Include Quicksilver; Spinoff Is Possible
Second unit director Brian Smrz confirms there will be a Quicksilver scene in 'X-Men: Apocalypse', and that he wants to do a solo movie.

With X-Men: Days of Future Past merging the all-star casts of both the original X-Men franchise and X-Men: First Class, many were surprised that the biggest scene-stealer was a brand new character, Evan Peters' Quicksilver. We reported earlier this month that the character may be utilized in a potential X-Men TV series, but now we have word that he will return in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Newsarama recently spoke with X-Men: Days of Future Past second unit director Brian Smrz, who revealed he will start storyboarding the film this year, while teasing that there will be another Quicksilver scene.

"They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff. I'll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it'll be full-time. Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I'm looking forward to; that'll be fun. Other than that, I can't really say much - I'm looking forward to working with the cast and crew again. I've worked with Hugh Jackman four times before this, and I love the younger cast who's already great to work with as well."

Brian Smrz, who directed most of the Quicksilver kitchen sequence in X-Men: Days of Future Past, suggested that he wants to make a stand alone Quicksilver movie.

"We talked about Quicksilver before, I'd love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character. But I'm not geared just towards superhero movies; for me it's about great main characters, and finding movies that have that."

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Will Center on Mystique and Magneto Romance
A love triangle between Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult may trump the action in the Marvel sequel 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

In a story from early October, producer Simon Kinberg revealed that a huge chunk of the X-Men: Apocalypse storyline will focus on Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique's (Jennifer Lawrence) strained relationship. Now, we have word that the plot will also feature a blooming romance between Mystique and Magento (Michael Fassbender).

Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender are destined to be locked in the X-Men franchise's second greatest love triangle, behind Wolverine, Jean Gray and Cyclops. This comes from THR, who have an extensive piece about Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming slate of projects.

According to the site, the Magento and Mystique love affair will be 'front and center', and serves as the epicenter of this particular plot. X-Men: Apocalypse itself is the final chapter in the trilogy set up by X-Men: First Class that was continued in X-Men: Days of Future Past. While Magneto and Mystique have had a continuous and somewhat tumultuous relationship in the past, it seems their inevitable union will finally get its due here.

Because of the in-demand actress' busy schedule, X-Men: Apocalypse is actually being crafted around Jennifer Lawrence and her Mystique character. Though she has a number of projects in the wings, 20th Century Fox has been unwilling to shift the start dates on this sequel, with production set to begin in April. Fox plans on taking full advantage of both Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender's star power at the moment, and that is one of the reasons the story is being molded specifically around these two characters.

James McAvoy is also set to reprise his role as Charles Xavier. The screenplay is coming from franchise mainstay producer Simon Kinberg, who is working alongside Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris. Shooting will take place in Montreal for a summer 2016 release date.

Variety cuenta que el actor acaba de firmar con FOX para interpretar al villano principal de X-Men: Apocalipsis, el cierre de Bryan Singer a la particular trilogía reboot del universo mutante tras X-Men: Primera generación y X-Men: Días del futuro pasado. The Wrap precisa que el actor de Drive, A propósito de Llewyn Davis y la futura Star Wars: The Force Awakens se había convertido en el favorito para el papel en las últimas semanas, imponiéndose a otros candidatos como Idris Elba o Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell en Juego de Tronos).

Issac interpretará a Apocalipsis, un mutante milenario nacido en el Antiguo Egipto que tiene por objetivo la supremacía mutante, eliminando cualquier vestigio débil en la cadena evolutiva. Singer presentó al personaje en la escena postcréditos de X-Men: Días del futuro pasado, dejando caer que la película va a ser el Stargate de esta generación.

Continúa el casting para Cíclope, Jean Grey y Tormenta en 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Tras los rumores del pasado mes de noviembre respecto al casting de 'X-Men: Apocalypse', nuevos nombres han surgido en las últimas horas referentes a los personajes de Jean Grey, Scott Summers (Cíclope) y Ororo Munroe (Tormenta).

Respecto a Jean Grey, The Wrap informa que Sophie Turner ('Game of Thrones', 'Barely Lethal') y la nominada al Oscar Saoirse Ronan ('Atonement', 'The Grand Budapest Hotel') se han unido al casting acompañando a las previamente anunciadas Elle Fanning ('Maleficent', 'The Boxtrolls') y Hailee Steinfeld ('True Grit', '3 Days to Kill'). Respecto al otro nombre que se dijo en su día, Chloe Grace Moretz ('If I Stay', 'Carrie'), se ha convertido en el primer descarte para el papel debido a un conflicto de fechas.

Pasamos al personaje de Scott Summers (Cíclope). Uniéndose a los anunciados previamente: Timothee Chalamet ('Interstellar', 'Men, Women & Children'), Ben Hardy ('EastEnders') y Charlie Rowe ('Red Band Society'), aparecen en la lista los nombres de Taron Edgerton ('Kingsman: The Secret Service', 'The Testament of Youth'), Jamie Blackley ('If I Stay', 'Snow White and the Huntsman') y Tye Sheridan ('Mud', 'Joe'). Según el medio, el candidato número uno para hacerse con el papel es Tye Sheridan.

No es que sea una sorpresa teniendo en cuenta lo que sabíamos hasta la fecha de la película de Bryan Singer, 'X-Men: Apocalypse', pero Patrick Stewart ha confirmado que ni él ni Ian McKellen repetirán en sus respectivos roles de Charles Xavier y Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) en la nueva película de los mutantes que llegará el 27 de mayo de 2016.

“He sabido muchas cosas sobre ello esta última noche”, dijo Stewart en el show de Larry King, dando a entender que sigue teniendo una muy estrecha relación con la franquicia. “Va a buscar mucho en los inicios de las vidas de todos los personajes. Por tanto, creo que no, nosotros no apareceremos en ella”.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Doesn't Want 'Kingsman' Star as Cyclops
'Kingsman: The Secret Service' star Taron Egerton definitively shuts down a report that he's eyeing the Cyclops role in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

Earlier this month, a report surfaced that included a number of young actors who are testing for the young Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey roles in 20th Century Fox's highly-anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse. Among the actors said to be reading for Cyclops were Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley (If I Stay) and Tye Sheridan (Mud), with Taron Egerton offering a vague statement on the rumor just one day later, stating he "really can't comment on the Cyclops thing." It seems a lot has changed between then and now, with the actor definitively stating in an interview with MTV News UK that he is not playing Cyclops in the new X-Men adventure.

"I can say I'm not doing X-Men. No, I'm not doing X-Men. I love the X-Men films and I love that franchise. I love the people who make them on and off screen, so yeah I'd love to one day sometime, but in this instance that rumor is unfounded."

It isn't clear at this time if the other actors reportedly testing for Cyclops, Jamie Blackley and Tye Sheridan, are still in contention. Another report from November revealed that Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothée Chalamet were up for the Cyclops role, but, again, we don't know if they're still in the mix either. Producer Simon Kinberg confirmed in September that X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set in the 1980s, will re-cast younger actors for the iconic roles of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm, although it isn't known how close the filmmakers are to casting these roles.

Now that we know Taron Egerton won't be seen in X-Men: Apocalypse, the actor was asked, if he could play any superhero, what would his dream role be. Here's what the actor had to say, which Sony Pictures may want to take notice of.

"My favorite is Spider-Man, and I think Andrew Garfield is wonderful at doing it, to the point where I don't think I should play him. But, I do absolutely love Spider-Man, yeah."

As we all know, Sony's Spider-Man franchise isn't in the greatest shape at this point, following Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which wasn't as big a hit at the box office as the studio hoped for. Sony is moving forward with The Sinister Six spin-off before The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but there have been plenty of rumors suggesting that Sony may revamp the franchise entirely. James Marsden approves of Tye Sheridan as Young Cyclops in 'X-Men: Apocalypse', while the young actor offers his own thoughts on the role.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Joe and Mud star Tye Sheridan had won the role of Young Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. The news hasn't exactly swayed fans either way, as the actor is relatively unknown. But he does have one supporter in his corner, and it maybe the only voice that counts at the moment. James Marsden, who originated the role of Cyclops in 2000's X-Men, and played him in three more films, is quite happy with the choice 20th Century Fox has made.

"I think he's a wonderfully talented actor who blew me away in Mud. I've never seen a kid that young be that present and that powerful. So, I think he's a perfect fit and I congratulate him."

This isn't the first time that another actor has taken over the role. Tim Pocock also played a younger version of Scott Summers in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. About taking on the new job, Tye Sheridan dropped some quick comments on The Hollywood Reporter, saying that he 'loved the last movie' and that shooting on the sequel starts 'this summer'. THR hasn't posted their full interview with the actor just yet, but they did supply a tweet. We also have some new fan art that depicts Tye Sheridan as he'll look in his Cyclops costume. Will he flaunt the original 80s visor as seen here? We can only hope so!

Tras informar la pasada semana que Alexandra Shipp será Ororo Munroe (Tormenta), Sophie Turner será Jean Grey y Tye Sheridan será Scott Summers (Cíclope), ahora tenemos la confirmación oficial de que Rose Byrne repetirá su rol de la Dra. Moira MacTaggert en la película, 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

Al respecto, en una entrevista en Entertainment Weekly el guionista y productor Simon Kinberg dijo: “Es un personaje importante en la película. Finalizamos 'First Class' con Charles borrando partes de su memoria en lo referente a los X-Men. Ellos son, en esencia, extraños con los que ella se reúne. Es una relación rica que empezamos a construir en 'First Class' y que me gustaría explotar más en esta ocasión”.

Kinberg reiteró que 'Apocalypse' “es la conclusión de los primeros arcos argumentales de Charles, Eric, Raven, y Hank, que son esencialmente los personajes principales. Ellos son jóvenes actorees y jóvenes personajes, por tanto hay mucha historia que contar. Pero como primera etapa de sus vidas, sí hay esa sensación de cierre al final de la película”.

Además, con la película ubicada en la década de los 80... ¿Podríamos ver personajes como Dazzler?: “Podría suceder”, rió Kinberg. “Ciertamente estamos mirando mutantes que cabrían en el período”.

Byrne se une por tanto a un reparto donde también estarán James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac y Nicholas Hoult, en una película dirigida por Bryan Singer que llegará a los cines el 27 de mayo de 2016.

En noticias relacionadas y tras ver un primer teaser-tráiler de 'Cuatro Fantásticos', Kinberg abordó una interesante cuestión sobre si estos personajes podrían cruzarse en el futuro en el camino de los X-Men:

Si bien de momento no se sabe qué personaje interpretará, Variety informa que el protagonista de la serie británica 'EastEnders', Ben Hardy, se ha unido al casting de la película de Bryan Singer, 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. Eso sí, según el medio su personaje será alguien muy representativo en los cómics de Marvel Universe.

Les recuerdo que el nombre de Hardy ya sonó con anterioridad para esta secuela de 20th Century Fox. Concretamente a principios de año, cuando se dijo que podría interpretar a Cíclope, papel que finalmente fue a parar a Tye Sheridan.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence y Nicholas Hoult volverán para esta película donde también estarán Rose Byrne como Moira MacTaggert y los recién llegados Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan y Kodi Smit-McPhee como las versiones jóvenes de Tormenta, Jean Grey, Cíclope y Nightcrawler. Además, Oscar Isaac estará como el mutante villano en la cinta.

Is ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Nicholas Hoult’s Last Movie as Beast?
Nicholas Hoult reveals that ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is the final ‘X-Men’ movie he is currently signed on for.

It's been known for quite some time that X-Men: Apocalypse will bring an end to the trilogy that started with 2011's X-Men: First Class and carried through into last summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. But now we're hearing that this might be the last movie to feature these particular actors as well. Speaking with E! Online, Nicholas Hoult, who stars as Beast in all three movies, reveals that this is the last movie he is signed on for.

" "This is the last one I'm signed up for. The first one did so well and [Days of Future Past] got received so brilliantly. It's like, 'Wow, people really want to see the films' and the best thing is it's a great crew and cast to work with and he's a fun character."

Things may change, and it's possible that Nicholas Hoult will sign on for more movies, but in the past director Bryan Singer has made it clear that this will bring a definite end to this current X-Men trilogy. Nicholas Hoult certainly doesn't sound like he is tired of playing the character. He explains:

"I have a good time playing him so I'd keep making them."

While future X-Men movies won't solely focus on this current core group of characters, it isn't unusual for the series to bring in past actors for cameos. X-Men: Apocalypse is only one of three franchise sequels opening in 2016, with Deadpool and Gambit also on the way. And Wolverine 3 will hit in 2017. Its unlikely that Nicholas Hoult will be making an appearance as Beast in any of these three films. Since Patrick Stewart is expected to show up as old Professor Xavier in Wolverine 3, its possible that Kelsey Grammer could reprise his role as old Beast as well, as he did for X-Men: Days of Future Past. X-Men: Apocalypse' será la última película de Jennifer Lawrence como Mística

Parece que el mundo de los comics acabará pronto para la oscarizada actriz Jennifer Lawrence. Nadie puede negar el acierto de Matthew Vaughn con el elenco de 'X-Men: Primera generación'; actores como la propia Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult o James McAvoy son grandes talentos y por ende tremendamente demandados, aunque es muy posible que más de uno aparque los superhéroes, por un tiempo...

Cuando los actores firman por grandes franquicias, es habitual hacerlo no sólo para la primera película, sino al menos para dos más. También fue el caso de 'X-Men', y aunque los actores pueden renegociar posteriormente sus contratos, no será fácil para la franquicia seguir contando con tanta estrella de primer nivel.

Hablando con MTV News, Lawrence reveló que la próxima secuela, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' (cuyo rodaje dará comienzo esta primavera) será su última aparición en una película de X-Men como Mística. Sus palabras fueron claras y concisas: “Es mi última, en realidad”.

Cuando volvió a ser preguntada sobre si 'Apocalypse' será su última película de la saga, la actriz volvió a ser directa: “Sí”. Muchos no se sorprenderán con esta decisión pues hablamos de una actriz que ya cuenta con su propia franquicia de éxito, mientras que en 'X-Men' no deja de ser un personaje secundario. Además, ambas franquicias le han consumido en los últimos años una media de 4-8 meses al año, por lo que con 'Los juegos del hambre' llegando a su fin, se le abrirían en abanico infinito de posibilidades.

Digamos que siempre es posible que Lawrence cambie de opinión, pero si finalmente sale, sin duda lo hará por la puerta grande. El productor Simon Kinberg dijo anteriormente que 'Apocalypse' será un punto de inflexión en la relación entre Mística y Bestia, por lo que posiblemente su personaje tendrá más relevancia que en anteriores películas.

A partir de ahí, ¿Qué ocurrirá con Fassbender o McAvoy? También les tocará renovar sus contratos y no será fácil. Kinberg y el realizador Bryan Singer podrían estar preparando un importante cambio de reparto tras la entrada de nuevos jóvenes mutantes a la franquicia, especialmente Cíclope, Jean Grey y Tormenta. De cualquier forma, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' llegará a los cines el 27 de mayo de 2016.
