Suponiendo que la última pista sea la canción de los créditos, la anterior daría a entender que la película acaba con Smaug partiendo de Erebor y los enanos y Bilbo viendo cierta lucecica indenciaria en la distancia. También, la primera pista podría interpretarse como que el prólogo pudiera sea el rumoreado encuentro de Thorin y Gandalf en Bree, donde empiezan a tramar la expedición...
