'Dexter' changing show runners for season 6
Dexter has a new man in charge: Series executive producer Scott Buck will assume show-running duties for the Showtime drama’s sixth season, replacing Chip Johannessen. Showtime confirmed the news, which was first reported by Deadline, but would not comment further. It’s the second year in a row that there has been a changing of the guard: Johannessen succeeded Clyde Phillips before season 5. Buck has been with Dexter since season 2 and served as a writer-producer on star Michael C. Hall’s other cable hit, Six Feet Under. This season was Dexter’s highest-rated to date, averaging more than five million viewers weekly (including repeats and on demand), and the show received multiple Golden Globe and SAG nominations earlier in the week.
