Según informa DEADLINE, el actor LUKE EVANS ha sido elegido para interpretar al arquero de Ciudad Lago BARDO.

EXCLUSIVE: Luke Evans has bagged the role of Bard in The Hobbit, a last major part that Peter Jackson hadn't cast in a production that's underway in New Zealand. Bard the Grim is a skilled archer, and the heir of King Girion of Dale. The king was killed by the talking dragon Smaug. The character plays a greater role in the second film, and is somewhat reminiscent of the action-hero exploits of Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn, I'm told.
It seemed evident that the Welsh actor was going to win one of these roles that involve a competition between multiple young thesps. He was a finalist to play the lead in Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy that went to Jeremy Renner, and was a finalist for the role of Tom Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, which went to Joel Edgerton. Evans plays Aramis in the upcoming Three Musketeers, after supporting roles in Immortals, Robin Hood and Clash of the Titans. He's repped by WME and Ruth Young at United Agents in the UK.

Efectivamente, es una voz impresionante (aunque a Smaug yo siempre le había puesto una voz un poco más de hombre viejo).

Vaya! Por fin puedo volver a postear! Ya hemos terminado nuestro primer "bloque" de rodaje y nuestra búsqueda de localizaciones, ya hablaremos de eso más adelante pero ahora me emociona anunciar dos nuevos miembros del casting que se unen a nosotros en nuestro segundo bloque de rodaje.
Evangeline Lilly (LOST) interpretará a un nuevo personaje: La elfa de los bosques Tauriel, su nombre significa "Hija de Mirkwood" pero os dejaremos en vilo de momento. NO, no hay conexión romántica con Legolas. Lo que no es secreto es lo increible y talentosa actriz que es Evangeline, estamos muy emocionados en que interprete a una verdadera Elfa Silvana.
También es un placer anunciar que Barry Humphries será el Rey de los Goblins (orcos), de una manera muy parecida a la que Andy Serkis creó a Gollum. Barry es quizás muy conocido por sus negocios y posición social y por ser tambien el manager de la Dama Edna Everage (personaje cómico australiano nota del tracudor). También ha sido un ferviente admirador y defensor de uno de los políticos más denostados de Australia, Sir Les Patterson ( otro personaje cómico australiano). Sin embargo, en su tiempo libre Barry es un gran actor y estamos esperando verlo como Rey de los Goblins con la sensibilidad y delicadeza que este personaje se merece.
Evangeline y Barry, junto a Luke Evans como Bardo y Benedict Cumberbatch como Smaug casi da por finalizado nuestro casting principal.

Yikes! I can finally get back to some postings! We've finished our first block of shooting and moved straight into location scouting. More on that soon... But today, I'm thrilled to announce two new cast members who will be joining us for our second block of shooting.
Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.
I'm also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Barry is perhaps best known for his business and social connections as the long-time manager of Dame Edna Everage. He has also been an ardent supporter of the rather misunderstood and unfairly maligned Australian politician, Sir Les Patterson. However, in his spare time, Barry is also a fine actor, and we're looking forward to seeing him invest the Goblin King with the delicate sensitivity and emotional depth this character deserves.
Evangeline and Barry, along with Welsh actor Luke Evans as Bard and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, just about rounds out the major casting. I cannot wait to get stuck into these new scenes!

El otro día me dio por mirar los libros de "El arte de___", "Armas y batallas" de ESDLA. Si estoy seguro de que algo no defraudará, será el diseño de producción
Qué maravilla ver eso en marcha otra vez. La película en sí me da un poco igual.
