Tras ver el remake de Footloose me he dispuesto a escuchar la banda sonora. La mayor parte son versiones de los temas que salen en la película original de los ochenta, ya sabemos que no son como las canciones originales, pero están muy bien estas "covers". Movidito el tema que cierra el CD destinado al público de las películas tipo Step Up o Fast and Furious. El compacto ya se abre como en el disco original con la canción Footloose, pero esta vez cantada por un tal Blake Shelton. Y el Holding Out For A Hero no es de Bonnie Tyler, pero la chica lo canta muy bien. La verdad es que no tiene nada que envidiar a la original de 1984, tiene su merecida escucha.

He escuchado ese par de versiones y la de Holding no me acaba de gustar. La chica canta bien tal y cual pero es que en general tengo bastante alergia a las versiones que son completamente diferentes al original. Este sería el caso. El Billie Jean de Chris Cornell lo mismo. Ahora no estoy fresco de mente pero seguro que encuentro casos de versiones muy diferentes al original que me gustan.
Por contra la de Footloose sí me gusta. Porque se parece a la original. Si la cosa funciona, no toquetees más de la cuenta.

Pues ya he escuchado tranquilamente (varias veces) el score de Hugo, con una duración de 62 minutos, frente a los 115 minutos de música que ha compuesto Shore ( según sus propias declaraciones).
Una música brillante, clara y muy muy agradable en la escucha. Con unos temas bastante pegadizos ( pocos, pero los hay) de misterio, cómicos ( para el personaje de Sacha Baron Cohen a elegido el fagot, ooh yeah!
) y bastante rómantico en tono general.
La orquestación es lo más importante en este score con solos de piano a cargo de Simon Chamberlain, de guitarra por John Parricelli, mussete (acordeón francés) por Eddie Hession, contrabajo por Chris Lawrence, Paul Clarvis a la batería pequeña y Cymthia Millar a las Ondas Martenot!!
La canción "Coeur Volant" está interpretada por la cantante francesa "Zaz"

ALAN SILVESTRI COMPONDRÁ EL SCORE DE "LOS VENGADORES"
Composer Alan Silvestri, who previously wrote the score for “Captain America: The First Avenger,” is set to return for “Marvel’s The Avengers”!
Silvestri, whose credits include “Night at the Museum” and “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” will write and compose the original score for “Marvel’s The Avengers,” due to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.

“This is actually a very unique experience [for me],” relates Silvestri. “I’ve worked on films where there have been a number of stars and certainly worked on films where there have been characters of equal weight in terms of their level of importance and profile in the film, but this one is somewhat extreme in that regard because each of these characters has their own world and it’s a very different situation.
“It’s very challenging to look for a way to give everyone the weight and consideration they need, but at the same time the film is really about the coming together of these characters, which implies that there is this entity called the Avengers which really has to be representative of all of them together.”
After scoring last summer’s hit “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Silvestri already has a good deal of experience working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I think to have been a part of the Marvel process is very helpful,” elaborates the composer. “To see how material evolves [and] how the film evolves gives the sense of how Marvel treats their characters, cares for them, and a bit of what that Marvel post-production process feels like.”
Though the film doesn’t hit theaters until May 4, 2012, Silvestri is already hard at work.
“It’s always an interesting process, of confronting the film and having a chance to live with it a bit and internalize it a little bit. I am just at the beginning stages of all of that right now and it’s feeling very good. I am looking forward to seeing the evolution of this film. Joss Whedon has really done something magnificent and I think everyone who loves Marvel and their films will especially enjoy this one.”
